Humanity's Team Canada - March 2006 Newsletter

Where Are The Keys to the Kingdom?

We are all here because we have searched without and within for our whole lives. We have pined for food for our souls. We have yearned for that sense of wonder that is our birthright. We have redefined ourselves, recreating again and then again, coming slowly but confidently to see and understand ourselves as God Godding. We, you and me, are the Keys to the Kingdom that have been spoken of down through time in every language.

Every thought you think, every emotion you emote, every action you take creates the world we all inhabit. We are the Masters of our shared Reality. As we think today, so we become tomorrow. Therefore let us avoid all thoughts which cause distress to others. May the Spirit of Love arise within us all that we may succeed easily at the tasks that lie ahead. We are the Masters of our Destiny. So be it!

Humanity's team is walking and talking folks. We’ve grown from concept, through newborn and baby, past toddler, on into a full blown childhood. Childhood for Humanity’s team is the wonder of connecting, of being the change, of angelic baby steps putting the tools in our hands to be the change through outreach work. Everyday around the world our intentions to be the change are being felt and inspiring others to join Humanity's Team and be their change.

A Message from our Country Coordinator

Dear Ones,

I have exciting news to share with you! We have recently welcomed on to our team, Marilyn Rowe, who was quick to answer our call for a bilingual provincial coordinator for the province of Quebec. The more I learn about Marilyn, and the more I speak with her, the more excited I get about having her on our team. We have also recently welcomed Kiernan Antares to our team as the Ontario Provincial Coordinator! I spoke with Kiernan today on the telephone, and I am so thrilled by her passion and the beautiful person that she is. How blessed we are to have our team grow in such ONEderful ways! We do still have roles open on our team, and if you feel the call to step up and be the change you wish to see by working with us, please send us an email to connect@humanitysteamcanada.com, we are looking forward to hearing from you!

I am gearing up for our upcoming Global Council meetings in Kyoto, Japan. I am flying to Kyoto on March 23rd where I will be meeting with other country coordinators from around the world for planning sessions, sharing sessions, spiritual and learning experiences, and the opportunity to connect in person with these shining lights from around the world! The HT Japan team has been hard at work preparing for all of us, and I will be sure to share as best I can in next month's newsletter all that I learn while I am there.

As I write this month's message to you, I am having the best day of my life so far! I woke up with the intention to do just that, as I have for the past week, and I am, I am having the best day of my life so far! A few weeks back, I asked our US Country coordinator, Keith Garrison how he was doing, and he answered, I am having the best day of my life so far! That got me thinking, that I would like to be having that too, and so I tried it, and I'm not surprised that it works. It's funny, when people ask how I am doing now, I answer with "oh, I am having the best day of my life so far", and more often than not, I am met with disbelief, and the question "why?" and my answer to them..."why not? Why not have the best day of my life so far? I put that question to you, my friends, why not have the best day of YOUR life so far?

Love to all,
Tanya Dixon

A Special Invitation From Neale Donald Walsch...

My Dear Friends,

I wonder if you would like to sit down with me and talk in person about how we can change our lives and change our world. I will be doing just that with a group of interested and dedicated people this coming May at a weekend retreat in Canmore. When we are together we'll look at how we can apply the extraordinary messages of Conversations with God to our every day experience, and how we can use those messages to help heal our global community. I really believe that there IS something that we can all do about our worldwide situation, notwithstanding that the Conversations with God books says that there is nothing we have to do. Of course, nothing we have to do, and being the change we wish to see in the world, are not mutually exclusive. I do know for a fact that Conversations with God can and will change any person's individual life. Let's look at all of this together. Join me in May!

God and Me: A journey to holy ground
with Neale Donald Walsch
author of Conversations with God

Every human being has asked, at one time in his or her life…Why am I here? What is the purpose of all this? What is my function, beyond survival? What happens when this is over?

A Message from Neale Donald Walsch

A very special week

We have an opportunity to make a real impact in the world the week of March 27th. There is something simple that we can do that can ultimately bring profound benefit to many others.

I almost hate to mention how we can do this, because in some ways it smacks so much of "self promotion"...yet I know in a larger sense that something like this can really make a difference, so I'm going to ask your permission to roll this out here, and I'm going to trust that you understand that this is not about promoting myself, this is about bringing a wonderful message to the world---a message that has apparently touched your own life in a very positive way, or you wouldn't even be visiting this webpage right now.

We are inviting all of you to join with us in making the week of March 27th Home with God Week in every country of the world. We are doing this to help carry the extraordinary message in HOME WITH GOD to people everywhere.

HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends is the latest and final text in the Conversations with God series. It looks deeply at the process of death and dying, describing what occurs in the moments following our departure from physicality, the journey of the Soul through its merging with The Essence...and the miracle of re-emergence, when the Unified Soul becomes once again a Singular Expression of Divinity, carrying the same identity it carried at death, but with an Expanded Awareness that produces the experience of what humans call "heaven," "paradise," "nirvana," or "bliss."

This astonishing book carries information that has never appeared in any form in a previous CwG dialogue. It will bring to its readers gentle comfort and a deep awareness of the glory and the wonder of life---life that never ends. It is as much about the here and now as it is about the hereafter, for, as the book itself declares, when you unravel the deepest mysteries about death, you unravel the deepest mysteries about life.

What we are inviting people around the world to do is to obtain a copy of this wonderful book THE WEEK OF MARCH 27TH, 2006.

If everyone who loves the CwG material and the messages it contains will obtain this book at the SAME TIME, during the SAME WEEK, we have a chance to place HOME WITH GOD in a Life That Never Ends on the Best Seller List. And the reason for doing this? If HOME WITH GOD becomes a best seller, it will come to the attention of many, many more people than it might otherwise reach---sending its healing and comforting message far and wide.

YOU CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Especially if you think you might buy this book anyway, we are asking you to buy it on March 29th (our "target" day, or anytime during the Week of March 27-31). You can do this easily and conveniently by going to www.Barnes & Noble.com or www.Amazon.com and ordering the book online.

LET'S ALL JOIN TOGETHER AND SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE TO THE WORLD COMMUNITY, offering new ideas about God, about Life, and about the reason and the purpose behind all existence. These ideas could change the world.

Thanks for making this happen!

Neale Donald Walsch.

I recently received the Do-It-Yourself Space Clearing Kit, created by Christan Hummel as a gift from a visitor. After reading the manual and using the mediations for cleansing on the CD in this kit I am compelled to write this testimonial about the benefits that became immediately evident. To start, the manual helped me understand a lifetime worth of dreams and impressions. For example, as a very young woman I experienced a tree saving me from serious injury, perhaps death. I knew beyond a doubt that the tree had reached out and made itself available to me as my feet went out from underneath me on a shale covered mountainside. Try telling your friends and family that one.

While I could to list many ways in which this book has affected our lives I will add only one more experience that was an immediate physical effect on our property. We live rural and my husband has been keeping a bird feeder going in our yard for over twenty years. Winged ones visit us daily. Since doing the cleansing these already numerous companions have appeared in greater numbers and in more variety at one time than we've seen before. While the numbers and variety might be a seasonal flux, the behaviour of these delightful creatures shows remarkable change. The wariness and nervous flight at our approach has lessened and with the year round bird residents almost stopped.

While I'm writing this testimonial telling you about these effects I'm smiling when my husband mentions how fearless the birds have been when he approaches them lately. While our special offer with Christian has ended HT Canada will be continuing to offer these books through Mark Brewers' website - http://reikitoronto.com/manuals.htm with 10% of sales coming to HT Canada.

An Open Invitation to Create HT Groups

Tomorrow’s God by NDW contains the following inspiration in which God is quoted, saying:

"Live this message of the nonseparation, of the Unity of Life and the Oneness of All Things. Live it in a practical way, not merely in a conceptual way. Allow it to seep into your being at the deepest level, and become a part of your subconscious and immediate response to every life encounter.

Living this message is the best way to share this message. Then share it in other ways as well. Carry it to the world. Make it available to all people. Tell them of tomorrow’s God, and the New Spirituality. But do not try to do this individually. The job is too big, the task is too great, for one person to undertake. And if one person tries, that person may be called a false prophet, a charlatan, or worse.

Form a collective to do this work. The day of the individual teacher has passed, and the time of the single master is over. It is now time to work together in multiply numbers, remembering that whenever two or more are gathered, there am I."

Humanity’s Team is founded on this inspiration and collectives are used to do what needs doing at all levels within Humanity’s Team. Collectives exist at the Global Level, and at the National Level.

At the local level, collectives are called Humanity’s Team Groups. A major part of our vision here in Canada is to create and support local HT Groups across the Country, giving new and existing teammates a nearby collective, providing them with support and inspiration. These are the foundational units of Humanity’s Team.

All Teammates are asked to involve themselves in the creation and support of collectives, thereby being a part of this grass roots movement to serve Humanity and Planet Earth through the collective wisdom and the combined contributions of the many.

Should you feel inclined to be part of the creation of an HT Group in your area, please contact your Provincial or Regional Coordinator for their support and guidance. Here are a few of the basics needed to begin this blessed process:

HT Groups need five things to succeed. These are teammates, venue, time, program, and facilitation.

  1. Teammates: There is an explosive growth of interest in Oneness and in the New Spirituality, so teammates will come. As you get your plans in order, we will include you in our website listing of functioning Groups.
  2. Venue: Many groups start in homes; others start in rent free or low rent facilities.
  3. Time: Groups meet regularly; weekly, every second week, or twice a month.
  4. Program: Some groups follow a study guide approach using Tomorrow’s God or other CwG material. Others include spiritual films or other spiritual materials. All welcome inputs from Teammates.
  5. Facilitation: Each Group requires someone to facilitate and keep meetings on track. This can be the Group Leader, or a shared responsibility, or another person as designated for each meeting.

P.S. Those of you involved in group activity based on CwG materials are invited to connect with Humanity’s Team. We are all one, and acting out of that oneness has great mutual benefits.

Core Team Vacancies

Presently, Humanity’s Team is a voluntary organization and all vacancies are filled by people volunteering their time. This has certain purity, bringing the focus to our highest self by promoting greater-good motivation. There are those volunteering their time and making contributions at the local level, with your local HT Groups. This is also true of those volunteering time and making contributions at the National Level, known as the Core Team.

From time to time, vacancies arise at the National Level and people are called to serve. Should you feel so inclined, please express your interest by contacting your Provincial or Regional Coordinator.

Thanks to John Ross for this written example of dedication and love in action!

Education and Innerwork Update

Hi Everyone:

This month has a few things to highlight, beginning with a very special young childrens program and the wonderful lady whose love and passion created it!

" The Shining Light "

Personal and Social Development Program for Young Children

Nurturing Babies, Young Children and The Child Within Us All

By Lynne Cox
Self published, ISBN 0-9733577-1-1

The Shining Light Program is a three part activity program designed to support and encourage young children (up to 8 years) in their progression of early mental, physical and social experiences. Consisting of a CD of stories, accompanying book of lyrics and a manual of lesson plans for parents and teachers, the combination offers a solid selection of material to support young children in the exploration of self. Joy, self esteem and encouragement is the message radiating clearly through all the simple and thoughtfully constructed exercises and activities.

The creator of this work is a parent educator and counsellor by the name of Lynne Cox. A follower of the CWG series since CWG Book One was released, Lynne was inspired to share her wisdom with clients who are open to the ideas of our interdimensional selves. Her dream was to share what she learned by creating the Shining Light Program so children could be validated for being who they are during their prenatal experience, infancy and younger years.

The Shining Light CD (that has a corresponding book of lyrics) is divided into two sections consisting first of 11 stories set to music, each of which corresponds to a lesson/activity plan outlined in the manual of lesson plans. The music is clear and beautifully preformed by Connie Sanders while Lynne reads the stories in a calm and soothing manner that attracts and affects adults and children alike. The Shining Light CD also contains beautiful instrumental selections that can be used as background for meditations and quiet times.

The Shining Light Lesson Plans are structure to correspond to each story and music on the Shining Light CD, and highlight powerful objectives such as relaxation with breathing; creation through imagination; sharing and cooperation; positive attitude and making something "grow" with focus; self awareness and love of self; exploring gifts and lessons of nature; the power of wishes and dreams; imagery; embracing diversity; seeing goodness in another is sharing goodness within self; and finally with experience of making mistakes and lessons learned.

The beauty of this material is well described as written by Karen Cooper, M.S., Licensed Mental Health Counsellor. "The Shining Light Lesson Plans which accompanies the Shining Light CD is designed to help educator and parents work together as they practice the exercises and creative visualizations presented in Lynne's stories. Teachers are able to take children through songs, art, and activities that affirm qualities of patience, positive self-regard, and sharing. Adults can support and affirm children's dreams, wishes, emotions, and individual experiences while teaching the activities outlined in each of the lesson plans. Positive relationship experiences grow between adults and children, and children with themselves, providing them with roots of nurturing and validation to promote a foundation of emotional intelligence and good feelings about Self."

The environment provided by Lynne's ideas for self expression is needed for that "drawing out" from children the natural wisdoms that lie within. Not only is this providing grounding for them in the fragile area of self confidence and expression, but the tools with which to explore and experience.

If I could summarize Lynne and her Shining Light Program in a word, it would be "love", as it shines through her and her creation in a way that is inescapable and invaluable for our young children in those precious, formative years. A valuable addition for family and teachers who support and encourage the development of the whole child. Any parents or HT groups wishing to obtain Lynne material may click here.

HT Kids in Canada will be blessed with Lynne to co-present her activities specifically with younger children at the Faith in the Rockies event in May at Canmore. The activities within Shining Light will also be used with local HT groups who wish to start integrating children activities into their meetings, and future gatherings/retreats.

In summary for out first program at Faith in the Rockies, the following activities will be in the pool of choices for the children we are blessed to guide. From the Shining Light:

Shining Star Team and Art, Listening ear, Wholeness and Belonging , Blanket of love, Creativity everywhere, Team dance, Imagination story, Applause , Story, Loving Yourself, Exploring Difference, All about you, Being your own best Friend, Taking care of your body, Interpretive Dance, Interpretive drawing, Things you can Do, Looking for what you Like ( in others), Good Things Happen everyday, Creating and I can Bee, Creating A Goal, Friendship Bracelets activities ( to highlight a few that will be chosen for the Faith in the Rockies childrens retreat program).

From "The Ultimate Kid" 7 domains of learning, by Jeff Goelitz:(ISBN ; 0-916438-61-9)

Touch the Earth, 5 Senses Visualization, Banquet for the senses, My body is Like, Getting to know You, Sorting and Classifying People, True recognition, Full Length Mirror, Manners and Quirks, Mirroring, I do understand You, What if, Love Seat, Mime, Sequencing, Knowing a Tree and a Friend, Trust Exercise, Exploring Nature, Feelings, Energy Awareness, The Power of Caring, Different Minds, Elderly Advice, Be a Hero, Mapping the Mind, Planting the seed of Poetry, Concentration, Truth telling, Supersensing, Deciding Yes or No, Seeing into the Future, Delphic Oracle, Visualization, Tapping Creativity Together, Solving Problems, Wondering at Mythology, Taking Notes through Pictures, Letting Music Provoke the Imagination, Dreaming.

Education and Innerwork in Canada welcomes anyone, anywhere to join and participate in the sharing of books, activities, film and games that reflect the values/ideas of New Spirituality for children! We also happy to send out our entire list of material and ideas complied so far. Its really not that hard to see there are already many great resources. Just send an email to myself with ideas or HTkids@humanitsyteamcanada.com.

This month we have expanded to start an on line HT youth group connection group facilitating teenagers and youth who believe in N.S. and wish to connect with others of similar age. Guides and interested adults are part of the group to facilitate future education and group activities and material for discussion. Teenagers are welcome to write and connect with others at HTyouth@humanitysteamcanada.com.

With my Thanks and Love to all of you!

Can East Update

An Ontario Coordinator Steps Up

Every day I wake up with the understanding that my life’s purpose has evolved into a mission to motivate people’s spirits to become their highest selves and feed souls that are hungry for possible answers to life’s endless questions. I offer suggestions for people to see things in new ways and provide them with tools to dig deep within themselves and find their beauty and passion that is waiting to be uncovered and shared with the world.

My personal experiences have strengthened me and taught me to find solace in the Earth that nourishes, the Sun that refuels and the Stars that watch over, guide and inspire me. I share my journey with others through conversations and through my writing.

I am currently working on my first novel, an inspirational adventure in search of uplifting humanity to higher levels of enlightenment. In addition I am doing research to write a self-help book to assist couples develop emotionally and spiritually rewarding relationships.

WHY I AM INTERESTED IN BECOMING A PROVINCIAL COORDINATOR?
I am interested in becoming the Ontario Provincial Coordinator because together, with a blend of my past experiences (see resume) and my desire to be a leader in the new spirituality movement it seems like a natural fit. The idea of expanding my current horizons and connecting with others of like mind stirs my soul to listen to the universe, beckoning me to stand up and be counted in this movement of creating a world where humanity may live in peace, love, unity and oneness.

WHAT IS MY PASSION – WHY DO I WANT TO SERVE?
My passion to serve humanity lives and breathes in the very depths of my Being. From the moment I first read The Celestine Prophecy, ten years ago, I knew without any hesitation that I was being activated to awaken and take an active role in the spiritual transition of human consciousness to a New World Age. The momentum I have witnessed and personally engaged in over the last ten years since my journey began is incredibly encouraging and signals me to elevate my participation and deepen my commitment.

VISION FOR HT ONTARIO
My vision for HT Ontario is to build a strong new spirituality presence within Ontario and Canada by developing programs and study groups in coordination with Group Leaders, other Provincial Coordinators and in accordance with the Worldwide Strategy.

Some of the tactics to achieve this vision may include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that all Ontario events are listed and kept current on the Worldwide and Canadian website
  • Working with GTA publications to post listings of events in editorial calendars
  • Reaching out to others of like mind and introduce to Humanity’s Team
  • Working closely with CanEast Regional Coordinator to develop a plan of action to bring people, skills and opportunities together in activities such as calls, meetings, education, retreats, and events to support one another, build community and raise funds
  • Working closely with other Provincial Coordinators to ensure we support the Worldwide strategy
  • Identify opportunities to provide more structure and improved coordination on a Provincial and National level to create a stronger alignment and team resonance
MY JOURNEY
My awakening began in the spring of 1996 when I finally bought and read The Celestine Prophecy, after hearing a couple of times that it was a remarkable adventure story. Prior to reading this book I was quite judgmental and closed minded, but from page one I was hooked and my life changed permanently. It provided me with the incentive to open my heart, mind and body to new experiences.

Even though I could not explain how or why, I knew without a doubt that the energy spoken of in the book existed in the real world and I needed to discover it for myself. My desire to experience this energy has led me on a quest that has continued to this day and beyond, of course. During the process of my journey I became a Reiki Master (an ancient form of healing) and owner of a health store until 1998 named Heaven’s Above Health & Wellness Centre located in Markham. The focus of this centre was on healing the body from the inside out, including the mental, emotional and spiritual components, in addition to physical.

When Conversations with God book 1 was published in 1996 I resisted purchasing it for some reason. I was new on the journey and perhaps I felt intimidated. In any case, while returning from Arizona that same year I missed my connecting flight in Denver by seconds. It was an infuriating experience especially since the next flight was not for another eight hours. I wandered the airport for hours, frustrated and angry but when I finally calmed down and allowed myself to think that perhaps there was a reason for the delay, I noticed a bookstore in the airport. I decided to check it out and low and behold, Conversations with God literally fell off the shelf in front of me. Of course I had to laugh and sympathized with my poor guides who had to resort to such extremes to get me to listen.

My copy, while yellowed from years gone by and stained from repeated readings, is proudly autographed by Neale Donald Walsch, who I had the opportunity to meet during a speaking engagement at the Learning Annex many years ago.

The philosophies contained in his books along with many others have assisted me through many wondrous and challenging experiences.

For years I dreamed of writing a book but what would I write about? This question haunted me until 1 ½ years ago when I knew it was time and the story came alive in my thoughts compelling me to begin a new phase of my journey. By this time I had many experiences to draw upon, including an amazing spiritual journey through Egypt and the pyramids, to help bring depth and richness to my writing.

Search For The Emerald Stone, as my manuscript is currently named, is an inspirational adventure starring a heroine on a quest to uplift humanity to higher levels of enlightenment. During her pursuit for the elusive Stone she must learn to release the limitations that hold her back from realizing her full potential. Discovering the truth of her Being will set herself and humanity free from duality but she must face and conquer her inner demons, which are portrayed through a despicable villain working with his own agenda to conquer the world.

Upon completing the first major draft of my manuscript I was struck with a thought to visit Neale Donald Walsch’s website¾for the first time in a few years, and listening to inner guidance, I did so. Somehow I came across the link to Humanity’s Team and discovered an excitement building within myself, complete with goose bumps, as I researched the content.

At the same time I reconnected with James Redfield’s site and discovered The Celestine Prophecy is being made into a movie and is scheduled to hit the movie theatres this spring.

Perhaps I have completed a cycle, in the last number of years which has brought be full circle, reconnecting me with CwG and The Celestine Prophecy.

I see a tremendous amount of potential for this organization, as it is in its infancy stages, and I feel a strong sense of calling for me to participate.

In closing, I hope you will select me for the role of Ontario Provincial Coordinator for Humanity’s Team Canada. I look forward to continuing my association with this organization along our journey through New Spirituality.

A Quebec Coordinator Steps Up

Dearest HT friends:

I feel blessed that you have come forth with your own visions. You have provided for me, that which I thought I needed; contact and inspiration!

Now I am ready (the right time and focus for me) and empowered (through your Energetic efforts) to Be the source of contact & inspiration for others!

First, let me introduce myself a little and tell you where I am at. Then I will allow myself to pour out the ideas – many of which are probably already being manifested by/through others and that would allow us to connect and co-create. So, about myself:

I am 39, the proud mother of Matthew; an unschooled 9 ½ yr-old (well.. almost; he did go to school until the beginning of 2nd grade). I am also the proud stepmother of 2 ‘teens’ (Kalila, a young woman of 18, and Kamil a young man of 17) who live with my husband and I, and who inspire and challenge me, and who keep reminding me of the path of unconditional love and acceptance.

First (taken from HT Newsletter): A short paragraph about why you are interested in that position:

The position interests me for too many reasons to enumerate; my life and direction and mostly my perspective and my heart were completely changed by what I read in Book 1. It unleashed in me a deep desire to find out more, to learn to use the tools of creation to create a much richer life in every sense, and all along knowing that I wanted to use this newfound knowledge to help others Become Happy, and fulfill their own dreams! I read the first 3 books in succession starting in 1997/8. It brought me much needed understanding at a very challenging time in my life.. and while it did not stop the train from running off track (and over me!!!) it did give me something to cling to as hope for myself, forgiveness, a new feeling toward relationships with others, as well as a new direction. I knew that I would someday, somehow be involved with Neale. When the first HT gathering sprung up, I HAD to go!! I came back clearer than ever and changed the name of my Bookstore-Café (Insomniac BookCafé) to Humanity’s BookCafé.. well that didn’t save it – but everything happens for a reason and while I mourned the loss I was brought to a new reality and discoveries beyond my wildest imagination; I learned firsthand about education, about how we learn, and about what’s not working.

I am ready now to step back in where I dropped off:

(A short paragraph about what you feel your passion is - what draws you the most strongly into wanting to serve?)

My passion is to bring hope, through new knowledge/possibility, to others. My passion is encouraging and empowering teenagers to rebel; and helping them find a way of ‘doing’ it that ‘may work’. My passion is awakening others to the damage we are doing to our children through our ‘schools’, and to the environment through our ignorance and dis-empowering beliefs.

A brief "biography" or "resume" outlining the skills you are interested in bringing to HT

  • I am at ease with computers although the technology has far outpaced me.
  • I have a good grasp of the English language, I like to write up business plans, ‘business’ letters (introductions, etc).
  • I like to write about life, spirituality, education – I am a non-fiction, very matter-of-fact type of writer. Often wordy!
  • I see myself as an inspirational speaker – manifesting shortly.
  • I am opinionated and passionate, as well as almost fearless in my desire to bring information and change to a planet in need of new information about itself, particularly about how it educates its young.
  • I am an anglo with a decidedly French education, therefore I am quite bilingual.
  • I have a business background and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • I am currently a ‘stay-at-home’ mom: read that as a) Educational Activist and Creative Educator, and b) New Spirituality Mentor.
  • I am walking toward Financial Freedom (from the space of financial dependence with GREAT freedom! If that makes any sense! Haha!)
Therefore, I am available and flexible to travel, to offer support from home, to create contact with others through phone/computer options.

MY HT QUÉBEC VISION

I envision that I would like to bring hope and empowerment to people throughout Quebec:

  1. I am ready and able to travel to set up a couple of group meetings that will facilitate for others the motivation and possibility to meet and connect.
  2. I will create the space of possibility for any of them to be the source of what they imagine they need (through my/our help and support).
  3. Mostly, I will offer to Be there, to connect with them on their challenges and perhaps empower them, as you have empowered me.
Brainstorming

  1. When meeting fellow HTers I will of course talk also about my passion; education! I hope to inspire and gain help/support for creating a new vision for education in Quebec/Canada. This vision is to be clarified; it may not be a HT vision – but it may very well have the possibility! All of it has been inspired by CWG! I’m just not sure how it will manifest. I currently have partners and am seeking others and will be subject to whether they feel called for it to be part of HT; I certainly believe it could; actually it may be empowered through all of my upcoming HT work and be exactly what HT would like to see happen in education!

So, I am going to continue to work on starting a Community Learning Center (I do not work currently - this is my 'job'); which I envision to be a physical location with many possibilities including having a HT community; a gathering spot, resources, classes. My personal focus in the Learning Center will be with the teens as well as offering NSp classes to all (within the LC and to the community).

    With the youth we will be learning through doing; and for those interested we will be ‘doing’ the thing called creating a Conscious Commerce; learning ‘business’, as well as creating an income for themselves and for our LC! The CC will also be reaching out to the community with a message and an example. The youth ‘know’ what they know, but they don’t know how to get the message across; I have been learning the message and how to get it across in a way that may work, together we can create awareness through;

    1. A youth newspaper (to be sold).
    2. A youth ‘hangout’ where they can grow in understanding and where ‘classes’ can be offered to other teens as well as to adults. This spot will be a Conscious Commerce through its offerings: a café hangout, monthly parties, workshops, books and other resources for rent/purchase. The CC funding the outreach AND creating right livelihood and rich experience for the teens as well as be a guiding example of their intelligence/wisdom, ability, and commitment. Functionality, adaptability, and sustainability, in action!
  2. Based on a GREAT suggestion from Vic; we would like to pull together a group to create an introduction to the New Spirituality that we could offer to schools; mostly college/university level and maybe eventually high schools (any high schools open to it now could certainly be approached-I’m just assuming a lack of openness for the time being).
  3. I would also like to see us use the ‘college’ program (or similar) offered in cafés – like a ‘travelling show’ (could also be bookstores, library’s and community centers, yoga studios – anywhere that can facilitate workshops/activities).
  4. I was just re-reading New Revelations and loved the idea of getting to the places of worship and offering HT insights. I like the idea of starting a letter-sending campaign; we could write up a common letter, so that no one has to do this on their own. The letter would be based on the 5 steps, and the idea of ‘expanding’ current understandings and current beliefs. We could send it to religious and other organizations, introducing HT and asking for permission to speak or have a dialogue at a gathering, in their space.
  5. I would like to create a New Spirituality lecture series in order to reach out the public in general.
  6. Also, coming from my financial background and my challenges with personal financial abundance; I am co-creating a Financial Freedom Support Group.
  7. I also would like to inspire the creation of a kind of Spiritual Toastmasters; helping to create the space where people who are feeling the call, can be assisted, and can practice being the inspirational speaker they dream of being.

Thank you and Namasté, Marilyn

Who you are makes a difference

A teacher in New York decided to honor each her seniors in High School by telling them the difference each of them had made. She called each student to the front of the class, one at a time. First, she told each of them how they had made a difference to her, and the class. Then she presented each of them with a blue ribbon, imprinted with gold letters, which read, "Who I Am Makes a Difference."

Afterwards, the teacher decided to do a class project, to see what kind of impact recognition would have on a Community. She gave each of the students three more blue ribbons, and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony. Then they were to follow up on the results, see who honoured whom, and report to the class in about a week.

One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive in a nearby company, and honoured him for helping him with his career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon, and put it on his shirt. Then he gave him two extra ribbons and said, "We're doing a class project on recognition, and we'd like for you to go out, find somebody to honour, give them a blue ribbon, then give them the extra blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person, to keep this acknowledgment ceremony going; then please report back to me and tell me what happened."

Later that day, the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had been noted, by the way, as being kind of a grouchy fellow. He sat his boss down, and he told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon, and would he give him permission to put it on him. His surprised boss said, "Well, sure." The junior executive took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his boss's jacket, above his heart. As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he said, "Would you take this extra ribbon, and pass it on by honouring somebody else. The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in school, and we want to keep this recognition ceremony going and find out how it affects people."

That night, the boss came home to his 14-year-old son, and sat him down. He said, "The most incredible thing happened to me today. I was in my office, and one of the junior executives came in and told me he admired me, and gave me a blue ribbon for being a creative genius. Imagine! He thinks I am a creative genius! Then he put a blue ribbon that says, "Who I Am Makes a Difference", on my jacket above my heart.

He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find somebody else to honour. As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about whom I would honour with this ribbon, and I thought about you. I want to honour you. My days are hectic and when I come home, I do not pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes I scream at you for not getting good enough grades in school, and for your bedroom being a mess. Somehow, tonight, I just wanted to sit here and, well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me. Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You're a great kid, and I love you!"

The startled boy started to sob and sob, and he could not stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, "Dad, earlier tonight I sat in my room and wrote a letter to you and Mom, explaining why I took my life, and I asked you to forgive me. I was going to commit suicide tonight after you were asleep. I just did not think that you cared at all. The letter is upstairs. I don't think I need it after all." His father walked upstairs and found a heartfelt letter full of anguish and pain.

The boss went back to work a changed man. He was no longer a grouch, but made sure to let all of his employees know that they made a difference. The junior executive helped several other young people with career planning, and never forgot to let them know that they made a difference in his life . . . one being the boss' son. In addition, the young boy and his classmates learned a valuable lesson, "Who you are DOES make a difference".

Smile and know that I think that you are important, or you would not have received this in the first place. Who you are does make a difference, and I wanted you to know that. " Author Unknown

May GOD BLESS YOU. Have an awesome day, and know that someone has thought about you today!

B.C. Coordinator Update

Today I would like to let all of Humanity's Team know that it means a great deal to me to be a steward for HT. As the Coordinator of BC I have met some wonderful people and feel that "YES" we can make a difference and be the change we want to see....Just by being. I would like to share with you my journey of Life.... so that you can all get to know me a little bit.

Many Blessings to everyone....Helen Layton

My Journey of Life

My Journey of life began in 1934 ( I've got to say here I feel like a young 50.) in Abbotsford B.C. where my parents settled after arriving in Canada from Hungary. I have a good mix of Hungarian and Romanian blood in my veins and am the second child of four children.

We were very fortunate to have loving parents who nurtured us with love and care, growing up in a farming community. To this day I am truly grateful for this as the farm is a great teacher of nature and survival.

My school years were wonderful. I danced my way through elementary school and led the cheers in high school. From there I went to the big city of Vancouver to attend Sprott Shaw College. With my sister living there, I wasn't too scared, however, it was certainly an eye-opener for this farm girl. Although I am grateful for what I learned at Sprott Shaw, I quickly knew I was not cut out to be an office gal. However, there was no saying,"No", once my parents paid for this education, so I worked at it for a couple of years until my parents asked if I would come home to help run the farm. My Dad needed a lung operation after our tractor rolled over on him, crushing his lungs.

Needless to say I jumped at the opportunity to get away from my clerical job. My year at home was a wonderful year as I was a very capable farm girl, able to keep all things going that needed attention.

Then one day, I saw an old school buddy driving by on a tractor. We exchanged greetings and that evening Chuck, my Life Long Partner of 52 years, came over to see me. I never did go back to my old job and after a year, we were married.

Then my journey changed to be a Wife and a Mom. Our family was a girl and a boy plus a few pets. This was pretty much our family size for about 8 years. With my children off to school, I had time on my hands and so I volunteered at our parish community to help out in Faith Formation. At the same time I took a role with Social Services to find homes for foster children. Well, our family grew up and down for when I could not find homes for these children, I would bring them home until I did find homes for them.

Meanwhile, after 8 years we were blessed with our youngest child . Then one day I had a family of teens. A brother and sister who were on their way to nowhere land became a part of our family. I had been responsible for putting then into five homes in one year as they just could not fit in. We were at our wits end and guess what? Home they came on a permanent placement. The kids finally had a home. This brought us up to a family of seven.

This was quite an undertaking for us as we were suddenly immersed into teen age parenting - lots of tears, lots of love, lots of care. This is where I first experienced that it was in giving of oneself that we receive. And receive we did, these two kids have now given us five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. With our own birth kids, we have a total of eleven grandchildren. Not only did our 2 teens get themselves a home with parents, now their children can say they have grandparents. They are not without. That is my Family Life which has been the most important part of my life.

Between all of this I did pursue a career. I am a founding member of MSA Community Services in Abbotsford. It is still going strong today. Our motto was "PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE". It took a core group two years to lay the foundation for the services. Then we submitted it to the federal government to see if we could get a grant and we did. We got a 3 year pilot program to test this work at which time I became a paid assistant to the director. It was serving in this job that I felt closest to the beliefs my Christian upbringing had given me.

These were wonderful years of learning, of growing. I was coordinating about eleven services in many areas including the medical setting, youth work, family life and special needs. We were also involved in inmate care and rehabilitation with Matsqui Institution. Those eight years were some of my best. My Children were old enough to look after themselves somewhat which gave me the freedom to sprout my wings - and that I did. However, I only worked until 3:00 so that the kids and I came home at the same time. With weekends and all of summer holidays off, I couldn't have asked for any thing better. When I left Community Services, they had to hire three people to do my job. That amazed me. But then I had created it, so it was easy for me.

My husband, Chuck, got a new posting in the Kamloops area as a Gas Inspector with the Government. So, off we went and left Abbotsford behind. We went back to the land, bought 5 Acres, and got into Quarter Horses. We had a cow, chickens, Pea Cocks and whatever else that wanted to run around the farm. By this time we only had our youngest child at home and life was good.

Then we had a tragedy and it was a time in our life when we were deeply saddened. We lost our twenty-one-year-old son in a motor cycle accident. Now I was grateful for all the training I had while running Community Services. All that I learned of death and dying to help others came into good use for us.

While we lived in the Kamloops area I volunteered with our parish community as coordinator of Faith Formation for children and adults. These were excellent years, as I was left on my own to run the program and had an excellent liberal Pastor to work with.

In my spiritual journey of life, which is really part and parcel of my every day life, I have to let you know that it was through my Mother that I was put in touch with God. My Mother had a beautiful relationship with God. We never started or finished a day with out gratitude and thanks.

When I first started in Faith Formation back in Abbotsford, it was of the old School. It did not sit too well with me as that is not what I received from my Mom. We did not live by following rules of Dos and Don'ts. We lived out of love for humankind. So I set about seeing what was available out there and I found it. A group of people got brave and put together what they called the New Canadian Catechism (now called Born of the Spirit) with the blessing of our Canadian Bishops. So now I had something to work with. I was instrumental in bring this new way of Faith Formation to the Diocese of Vancouver and, later, throughout B.C. I worked against much resistance from very conservative Parishes but what is good will always surface.

Then came retirement and we made another move to our Shuswap Lake summer home. I retired as parish coordinator and settled in at the Lake, not to rest, but to work. Our summer home needed a lot of loving care to become our permanent home. The water and sewage all needed upgrading. Gardens and orchards had to be put in. Trees needed thinning. You name it, we had to do it ... so one of the first things we bought ourselves was a hot tub for our sore muscles. This was a Godsend.

After twelve years we have almost arrived and finished everything we wanted to do. During this time,Chuck became an Assistant Fire Chief of Eagle Bay and I am on the board of Directors for our Eagle Bay Community. In these roles, we both help out people who need it (either because of health or other misfortune) by whatever means is necessary. I also held the position of Chairperson for our Pastoral Council for six years but have now retired from that to a consultation position.

As we were winding down the renovations of our home, we decided we would get away for a three month holiday on a trip North to Alaska which was a great adventure.

For the last 2 years (mostly in winter) I have been learning about energy, healing and Qigong. I am so grateful that this has been given to me to experience.

In the Summer, I am a master organic gardener. We grow all our own veggies, small fruits and orchard fruits. Our produce lasts us the whole year. We make our own wine from the culled fruit, so nothing is wasted. Our flower garden is said to be the Butchart Gardens of the Shuswap. I have had garden tours and invite anyone in to stroll along our pathways and to enjoy and forage while they walk.

I am forever grateful for Shuswap Lake which gives me great pleasure and tranquility. I am looking into energizing our water system right now. I am grateful for our Eagle Bay Community, small enough to make a difference and big enough to feel a great sense of belonging.

This past winter I read Neale's last two books where he invited us to join in and be a part of Humanity's team, to make a difference. It did not take me long to get online and join. My oldest daughter and I are going to Faith in the Rockies which I am very excited about.

And the rest is yet to come.

Take Care....Love & Peace.....Helen Layton

Prison Light Update - Freedom Inside

It is my belief that we come to this life to connect with one another. One of the most beautiful and meaningful connections I’ve ever made was with prisoners. I recognized people whom, on the face of it, I have nothing in common with. People who have lived lives so very different from mine; people who make so very different choices. I looked into their eyes and I saw myself. I saw my Self. And I knew, without a doubt, without a question or hesitation that We Really Are All One.

It is one of the most beautiful gifts I have ever received.

Freedom Inside is a newsletter with the mission to continue and extend this connection, this gift. It is based on the CwG material and is written mostly by and for prisoners. It is a medium through which people can exchange stories, comments, questions and answers about how to apply the new spirituality to their everyday lives whether in or out of prison.

It is sent free of charge to any prisoner interested in receiving it.

Please join us in our connection.

With love and peace,

I am

the unseen.

I am

that which points

to that which

Is

And the space

in between.

I circle

the windmills.

I wave

the flags of all

earth.

I ripple

the waters.

I sway

the trees,

rustle

the grass,

toss

the hat from your head,

sail

even the smallest of boats

soar

kites through the blue,

float

the clouds into forever

changing shapes.

I carry the

sweet of lilacs,

smoke of the campfires,

salt of the sea,

pine of the trees,

sour of the apples,

stench of the waste.

I open doors

and close them.

I am

the push of warmth

and the pull of cold.

Sometimes I swirl

dust,

leaves, and

that which You

discard.

I am

the tumble in weeds.

I am

the reason

for outdoor chimes.

I am

the driver

of the rain,

the snow,

of the lifting

fog.

I am

Everywhere

Always.

Never

will I leave

You.

And ever

those times

You feel

I am

too strong,

that I make too

many rattles

clatter too

many shutters

vibrate too

quickly,

I remind You

of Me.

You feel Me

Against your face

At your back

Through your hair

I am

I am.

And so

You are.

Eternal gratitude to you Nannette for sharing this breathe of air with us. Namaste

The Editorial Section

It’s easy to relate to the metaphor of having been asleep and awakening after reading a CWG book. As well it makes sense that we feel a sense of urgency, having awoke, to get on with the tasks that we sense lie before us. While the need is urgent to reach out to the world with our loving intentions, it is most important to unconditionally support yourself first.

Take your precious time and enjoy the fruits of your awakening. Look with new eyes at yourself, know eternal gratitude, have complete confidence that this is the perfect time to fully and completely love and accept yourself in the here and now. Yes, there is a wondrous future to be fulfilled. It’s fulfillment depends on creating smiles on the faces around you by smiling yourself now! Skip, jump, dance, leap up and down, whatever it takes to express the pleasure of having a physical vessel to experience the wonderful oneness of it all. Turn your joy and pleasure into a prayer of thanks and the energetic circuits in your life with light up as never before.

Oneness works wonders!
